Penn State, the Governor, and Sandusky Scandal

I just saw this--and wanted to share in case anyone missed it--PA Governor was apparently glad to take Second Mile (Jerry Sandusky's organization) money even though--read this!

In 2010, then-Attorney General Tom Corbett accepted a $25,000 political contribution from The Second Mile. Now Gov. Corbett is saying that he didn't return the money because it would've tipped off The Second Mile that its ...founder was being investigated for alleged child sex abuse.

The timeline shows that Corbett had a grand jury seated for about a year, before he began his run for governor. Within that year, Corbett must have received testimony from Sandusky's alleged victims that they came from The Second Mile program. Yet despite this, Corbett still gladly took The Second Mile’s $25,000 contribution.

Now, Corbett’s trying to make Pennsylvanians believe that giving back the $25,000 would’ve alerted them to something about which they were already aware. Penn State coach Joe Paterno was fired for not doing more than just passing someone else's account of Sandusky's alleged impropriety to his superiors.
